These drawers have no electronic components. They are opened and closed by a latch assembly that is released when the face of the drawer is pushed in, and latch shut automatically when closed. The key lock is used to prevent access to the drawer.

These drawers are very popular for use by cabinet manufacturers or for other applications that require the security of a cash drawer but without the need to interface with a point of sale system.
